Frequently Asked Questions about training with PPF . . .
What can I expect from personal fitness training?
You will work with your personal trainer to develop a fitness regimen that is uniquely yours.  The exercises and lifestyle changes your trainer designs will address your unique physical considerations, your lifestyle constraints, and your desired outcome.

You can choose how often you work with your trainer.  Depending on what you are trying to achieve, and the amount of time you have to commit to fitness, you can train five times a week, two times a week, every two weeks, or even once a month.  At the very least, you should visit your trainer once every 6 weeks to make a few changes to your program to ensure that you are always progressing and experiencing results.  Too many people stay on the same program for an extended period of time and wonder why they are no longer experiencing changes in their fitness level.

Why does it work?
Working with a personal trainer keeps it interesting. Your personal trainer becomes your system for accountability and motivation. Your trainer will regularly update your fitness regime to help you continually achieve results.

Who does Peak PhysiqueFitness work with?
We have helped many different clients over the years: beginners, elderly individuals, people experiencing back, neck, knee, and shoulder problems, mountain climbers, competitive skiers and boarders, competitive athletes, triathletes, runners, cyclists, pre/post natal women, obese clients, and osteoporotic individuals. We are completely confident that regardless of your special considerations, we will be able to help you achieve a higher level of health and fitness.

How do I get started?
Getting started with Peak Physiques Fitness personal training is easy- give Connie a call at 206-779-1279 to set up your first appointment.

What happens before the first session?
You will complete an eight-page client information questionnaire. The information gathered in the questionnaire is critical to helping your Personal Trainer design the most individualized program for you.   Your trainer will take the information gathered in this questionnaire and create a custom-designed program that will make it easier for you to achieve results.

In order to provide your Personal Trainer with all the tools necessary to really help you achieve your goals safely, effectively, and permanently, we encourage you to be thorough when filling out this form. That way they won’t be wasting any time during your first session trying to gather information and instead can focus on the training program.

What happens in the first few sessions?
The first few sessions are the most important. This is when your Personal Trainer helps you lay a strong foundation that you can build upon.

You will determine how ready you are for the changes and whether you need to adjust your expectations dependent on your current lifestyle and other responsibilities. You will develop goals that will get you emotionally excited so that you will stay committed despite other priorities that may surface.

You will establish a step by step plan to get you closer and closer to your goals.
You will walk away with a very clear picture of what success is going to look like and what you need to do to get there.

We will perform a postural analysis. This is important because many people perform certain exercises that they should not be doing and are then compounding an existing imbalance and putting themselves at risk for a future injury.  By completing this analysis, it allows your trainer to teach you the exercises you should be doing and show you the ones you should be avoiding.

Generally, the first few sessions are not very active– the killer workouts come later! We typically start off pretty easy and gradually pick up the pace once we understand your capabilities and limitations.

Each session and each workout will build upon this initial stage. However, you should still wear comfortable workout gear as you will be moving. Keep in mind if you are presently very fit and do not struggle with motivation, we will get to work right away!

What happens if I need to reschedule my session(s)?
No problem. Just be sure to call at least 24 hours before your scheduled session(s). This advanced warning is required so that your Personal Trainer can then book another client into your time slot.

What happens if I don't give 24 hours notice?
Unfortunately, due to high demand on our Personal Trainers' time, if you do not provide 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the session. Our trainers spend a significant amount of time preparing for their clients. So in all fairness and respect to them, we require advanced notice in order to reschedule. This policy is helpful to you, too.  Clients are less likely to miss their workouts and renege on their commitment to themselves if they know they still have to pay. This keeps you accountable to yourself and your goals. And consistency is what gets results!
